A Series of Unfortunate Events The Bad Beginning
We have become obsessed with Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events! It is such an interesting story “rife with misfortunate and despair” but one that we as the reader never tire of reading. ‘Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events No. 1 The Bad Beginning’ is a series we have fallen in love with and ended up using in our homeschool with the Brave Writer Arrow Guide which we have found to be a really great addition to many of our readings. It has taught Isabella so much about literary elements and given us a richer reading experience. I highly recommend it, if you are looking to take your readings a step further.

A Series of Unfortunate Events The Bad Beginning or, Orphans The Review
You may think it odd that you and/or your children would enjoy such a sad story, that even the narrator warns you to stay away from because there will never be a happy ending. However, this story is extremely well written the reader can not help but fall for the storyline and get sucked up into it. You just can’t help but hope the narrator was wrong and something good is going to happen, that there will indeed be a happy ending. You can’t help but read about Violet, Klaus and Sunny’s misfortune and when this story is over you can not help but pick up the next in the series and the next, you can’t help yourself from even rereading the series because yes, it is that horrible and at the same time it is that good.
This book keeps readers enticed and excited to keep reading. Its rich vocabulary and use of literary elements may even inspire kids to get creative with their own writing styles.
