Easter Egg Addition Activity
This Easter egg addition activity helps children develop fluency with math facts. Memorizing math facts doesn’t have to be tedious. It can be tons of fun! Focus on teaching addition facts by reusing the plastic eggs commonly used in Easter baskets. Extend this activity to help teach subtraction, multiplication, and division facts as well. Before we begin, please take a moment to pin this post to your homeschool math board.
- First, on one half of a plastic egg, you need to write the ADDENDS in a number sentence.
- Then, on the other half of the plastic egg, you complete the Number Sentence with the SUM (answer).
- Next, separate the 2 parts of the plastic eggs, mix them up.
- Then, have the kids put them back together, making the accurate Number Sentences.
This set uses Addition Doubles but you could include any facts that your students need to practice to develop math fluency. It also works with any of the other OPERATIONS (subtraction, multiplication, and division).
Lots of the plastic eggs are on sale after Easter!
