Did you know that there is a junior novelization based on the animated short Frozen Fever that was featured in the previews before the new Cinderella movie? Well, there is and of course, Isabella couldn’t help herself but read it! She is obsessed with Frozen so her review is a little bit biased.
Frozen Fever – the book
This story is based directly on the short film, Anna’s birthday is approaching and Elsa is feeling guilty for all the lost time. Elsa is planning a surprise birthday party for Anna. Elsa goes all out, planning every little detail. Elsa, However, Elsa catches a cold and her icy powers may put more than just the party at risk. We see many of the original characters from the Frozen movie Kristoff, Sven, Olaf, and even Hans makes an appearance as well as Marshmallow.
Frozen Fever- the review
Preschoolers and elementary-aged children will be delighted by this fun continuation of Frozen. While this is a junior novelization and your child who is extremely interested in Frozen may not be able to independently read this book, it would make a great read aloud, especially if they are already interested in it. This book is exactly like the short, so if you are looking for a little more backstory or more of a continuation, you will not be getting it here. Overall it was a fun read for my completely obsessed little girl. It is such a heartfelt book, Elsa feels bad that she missed out on so much of Anna’s life by trying to hide her icy powers. So she is determined to give Anna the best birthday ever, no matter what. It really shows a deep love between two sisters. Love isn’t extravagant gifts, it is simply showing you care.
