30 Days of Thanksgiving- Gratitude Journal
Thanksgiving Journal
It is that time of the year. November is quickly approaching, and our tradition of writing out our Thankful Journal (gratitude journal). We love this tradition in our house, and we love sharing it with you.
Thankful Journal Tradition
I can not believe that it has been three years since we started this tradition, it feels like just yesterday. It is a great way to teach children to be grateful for everything in their lives, even the mundane. It’s also a great way to remind us, parents.
Parenting is Hard
As we all know, parenting is hard. It is also fantastic, but it is so easy to focus on things that didn’t go the way we wanted. Things that were not precisely Facebook or Instagram perfect. This thankful journal can remind you that even though things don’t always go the way we would like, we are still rock stars. Our kids are amazing, and there is so many reasons to be thankful.
Thanksgiving Journal Printable
For the past two years, we have created journals to print out and write five things you are thankful for each day of the month. These journals can be used any year, so if you would like a previous design, feel free to enjoy them here, and here. This year’s journal can be downloaded here.
How Does the Thanksgiving Journal work?
Every day, either at the beginning of the day or at the end, sit down and write out five things to be thankful for that day. Each day comes up with five new things, it may be difficult at first, but once you start recognizing all the positives in your life, it will get easier. They don’t have to be wild things to be grateful for; it could be as simple as running water, a home/ roof over my head, my family, etc. It is a great thing to do with your child or as a family.
I love this activity because it helps teach gratitude and stay positive. It is a beautiful way for all of us to become more conscious of what goes right each day.
