Rainbow Fish Craft Instructions
This colorful craft is the perfect companion activity to reading The Rainbow Fish. Children will love creating their shimmering fish while practicing crucial fine motor skills!
What You Will Need:
- Construction Paper (blue and various colors)
- Scissors
- Glue
- Pencil
- Glitter Glue
- Googly Eye
What To Do:
- First, take a blue sheet of construction paper and sketch out a fish shape, basically an oval for the body and a triangle for the tail.
- Next, cut out the fish shape.
- Using the excess blue paper, cut out triangular shapes for fins. You need a big one for the top and three smaller ones for the bottom.
- Next, attach the fins to the fish shape.
- Using the yellow construction paper, sketch out a small oval and cut it out. You can split the oval in half to make the fish’s mouth look like the one on the cover of the book.
- Next, cut out all different color scales from construction paper. You can trace your thumb to make the scale shape.
- Glue the scales on the fish.
- Next, use glitter glue to outline the fish’s scales.
- Add some glitter to the tail and fins.
- Attach a googly eye to complete your Rainbow Fish!
