Science for Littles – Teaching Science to Toddlers

Science for Littles

Science for LittlesThis Science for Littles post is new for us, with Isabella’s strong interest in science it is fairly about time that AJ would want to get in on the action. We love to have him join in on anything he shows interest in, and that is safe for him to do.  Since we were working on our Halloween Science Experiment earlier which incorporated chemical reactions. We decided to do a simpler chemical reaction experiment with AJ.

Plate or Tray

a container (think our test tubes are cool? We got them from this Project Mc2 Set)

Distilled White Vinegar

Baking Soda

Liquid Food Coloring (optional)

What to do:

  1. First, place your container onto of a plate, tray or tarp.
  2. Next, fill your container half with distilled white vinegar. If you are using food coloring add it into your vinegar.
  3. Finally, slowly pour Baking Soda into the other half of the container. It will not take long for the chemical reaction to be seen and delight among your children’s faces.
