30 Days of Thanksgiving- Thankful Journal
Thankful Journal
Last year we began a tradition to take our time during the Thanksgiving season to really focus on our gratitude. We are keeping a Thankful Journal where we keep track of all the things we are blessed with within our lives. This is a great time to introduce gratitude in your family. It is only for a month, and then if you want to extend it throughout the year, you can! Want to grab last year’s journal? Check it out here!
Why?
Why November/ the month of Thanksgiving? If you are from the United States (or Canada) then you probably celebrate Thanksgiving, the one day of the year that we formally celebrate being thankful and usually, it is for an enormous meal on our dinner table. We wanted to expand on Thanksgiving itself and learn the practice of being grateful daily. Of course, we would love to do this every day of the year and maybe we will do that. But this is just the beginning and a lower commitment.
How do we do this?
Print a copy of the 2016 Thankful Journal here. Then take some time at the end of your day to write down 5 things you are grateful for each day, try to be detailed because you want to write 5 new things each day. For younger kids, drawing pictures or using one word such as food, family, etc. may be better.
