What will they remember about your homeschool?
What will they remember about your homeschool?
We all know that homeschool is work. Work that we love and value. Our days are filled with reading, calculating, cutting, gluing, cleaning, organizing, planning, researching, checking, listing, outlining and so on. But, when it comes down to it what will our kids remember? Will they remember all the work we put in to make our homeschool run? More likely, they will remember the connection they made with you through the process.
Connection
They will remember the laughter, the hugs, the kisses and silliness that occurs throughout each day. They will remember jokes from reading aloud, the juicy conversations on their favorite topic that you sat and listened to intently. They will remember your love and attention. Our kids are going to remember the connection that we make with them each day while they learn and grow.
Finding the Balance
Try to balance the connection with all the work. Make sure you are connecting with each of your children every day. It doesn’t mean that you need to spend an hour with each child one on one. Just choose to give eye contact, a rub of the shoulders, a hug, a kiss no matter how old they are. It is so important to foster the connection you have with your kids. These are the things they will remember.
